DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE EQUIPMENT

Wetsuit:

There are various types of wetsuits designed specifically for SwimRun, usually having a front zipper for ventilation and quick temperature regulation during running segments. Wetsuits typically come with a mandatory safety whistle.

Although Suffer Fest does not have specific requirements, athletes are encouraged to choose a comfortable wetsuit for swimming in water temperatures between 10-15°C. The wetsuit should fit well and prevent water from entering. Additionally, to protect the surrounding environment, it is essential to ensure that the wetsuit does not modify with paint or color or contain harmful chemicals.

The number BIB Singlet provided by SufferFest must be worn throughout the race to track results. You MUST wear it on the outermost (over your wetsuit). Furthermore, Suffer Fest aims to organize an environmentally friendly event, so please return your bib number to the designated bin after finishing for reuse in future years.

Athletes are required to wear the swim cap throughout the race.

Suffer Fest does not limit the flotation equipment that athletes are allowed to use, as long as they do not exceed 100cm x 60cm in size. Athletes can use pull buoys to enhance buoyancy and save energy for your legs. If using a pull buoy, it can be combined with hand paddles for added propulsion. Choose a buoy suitable for the necessary buoyancy.

To ensure safety, Suffer Fest encourages each team to have at least one GPS watch or compass.

Changing running shoes and wetsuits during the race is not permitted. Therefore, choose lightweight, buoyant, and quick-drying shoes that fit well and provide good traction to suit the varied terrain of the course.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

At Suffer Fest, we are grateful for the pristine nature of the Tuyen Lam Lake area which allows us to arrange our race in such a beautiful environment. Our aim is to organize a green race and to promote sustainability so that we can arrange races for many more years to come.

To protect the beautiful environment we do the following:

  • We collect all race bibs after the race, with the aim of reusing them in the coming races. Please return your bib after the race.
  • We forbid the racers from leaving any trash or equipment along the course. All trash and equipment must be carried to the finish line or thrown in bins at the aid stations.
  • We enforce a rule that states that racers who deliberately leave trash in the forest may be subject to disqualification.
  • The amount of disposable cups usually used in sports events is huge, which takes its toll on the environment. In Suffer Fest, we aim to reduce the amount of paper cups used in our race. Therefore we encourage all teams to bring their own cups to the race.

Let’s accompany Suffer Fest to protect the environment and foster a sustainable sports spirit!
